Bamberg Day Trip
Bamberg is one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Germany, also known as "the Rome in the North" with impressive churches showing you the great variety of architectural styles through the centuries. The view from St. Michael's church to the cosy half timbered houses along the river (the locals call it "Little Venice") is unforgettable. Besides that, Bamberg is famous for a unique drink, the smoked beer (imagine a beer with a taste of ham). Just outside the city, you can visit Buttenheim, the hometown of Levi Strauss.
